Having had experience as a professional musician, ham radio operator, student pilot, sailor, professional stage hypnotist, state legislator, and practicing attorney, I decided last spring (2007) that I wanted to start doing more than just “point and shoot” when I took a photo. Therefore, I upgraded my equipment to an adjustable digital camera, bought several additional lenses, including an infrared lens, studied technique, took classes, and began to hone my skills on using several computer photo editing programs. One significant change since I took up photography as a serious interest is that now I look at the world more closely and carefully, seeing detail, light, shadow and color as I have never taken the time to view them before, enabling me to, hopefully, capture them to my photos.
